Well my daily driver had an ebay kit fitted when I first got it (The filter is one when cut in half would look like a "W"), still had the resonator fitted as well. Now I've put the OEM airbox back, with an OEM filter (Still with the resonator in place) it's near impossible to feel any difference. Though I'm sure once I to have fitted a K&N filter and the flow rate has increased she'll be a little more responsive.

Funny you should say that about bikes, with mine I've always kept the standard boxes as the other aftermarket cones etc for it make it use more fuel and they become sluggish, I've always just bought a k&n filter.
Didn't think to use the same principal.. oops.
