Radiator broken. Now sorted with your help.

Banter goes here, and doesn't have to be Lude related

Radiator broken. Need a new one urgently

It's here via a very efficient DPD courier. I've called Ali to let him know and he's asked me to drop it down tomorrow afternoon as he's absolutely rammed with work today.
I wanted to get a shot of the radiator without the inner packaging that's around it, but I thought it best leave it on to let Ali and his guys look at it tomorrow to double-double check it's the right one and everything is as it should be, just in case I have to send it back. Fingers crossed that's not the case.
Thanks to you all for your selfless advice, and I cannot tell you how chuffed I am to have this in my lounge ready to get it fitted tomorrow. Blimey, I'd better ask Ali and the guys to clean the fan assembly before they're refitted. Don't want grubby old fans against my shiny new radiator now do I?... :D
Happy days... :D

Only just catching up on this thread.
Very bad luck - incredibly rare to have one of the hose connection pieces fail like that.
Glad you got it sorted, Simon.

This is particularly interesting, because it's an all-metal one! Never seen that on a Rover 600 or lude (and tbh I don't think I can recall seeing an all metal Nissens rad since around the 80's, so shows just how old-stock that one is!)

And here we are, fellas. Five days after the broken radiator was found, here's a few shots of the process yesterday to put the new one in.

Here's the offending article ready for the bin...

Here it's fitted and a new container coolant freshly delivered while I was there...

Thanks, Iain and I'm really pleased it's all ended so well.
I wonder what other Rover parts are compatible with Preludes?
