Argh!
Just got home and a guy was waiting in our parking area and came to tell me that people are out on the rob! I'm away for the weekend and the car is going to be all alone
My other half is around on the weekend so she can check on it and I've taken all the valuables out but do I leave a note in the window telling them to body lemonade off?

Yes, take everything out i'd leave the glovebox open. As gayno said, make it look as boring as possible.A1ex wrote:So get everything out of the car so they can see its not worth the effort?

If they're taking cars, make sure yours can't be started. Remove a vital component.
Is there nowhere else you could park it while you're away?

The car has an immobilser and alarm already, I think they're just after the petty stuff but still annoying!
I can leave in the street rather than a quiet area but this made no difference when the box was stolen

A friend of mine at work had his Starlet broken into. They had to smash through the garage doors, smash the drivers side window to get in, used a screwdriver to try turn the engine over then they tried bumpstarting it and ended up leaving it down the road.
The garage was already open, as he never keeps anything of value in there, but they broke that anyway.
The car door was unlocked but they smashed the window anyway.
And there was no battery in the car so it couldn't be started or bumped.
Just goes to show its just mindless idiots that cause trouble for the sake of doing it.
When i go on holiday I put a chain around the wheels. I know it won't stop the windows being smashed etc but it can be a small deterrent as i don't have a steering wheel lock.
Like above posts say, remove everything of value and try to make it look less inviting and hope for the best.
