Chat thread

Post by JayJay » Fri Oct 07, 2011 10:30 am

Random chat thread!

I'll start:

Just booked my car in to have the aircon system tested and re-gassed on Monday. Been a long time coming. Apparently it's quite bad to not have it kept in good condition because a lot of the seals require the gas to keep in good condition, otherwise they start to deteriorate :? Oops.

Also just bought (well, I will have soon) JDM-BB4s JDM dials and the steering wheel surround, so my VTEC light dials will be up for sale soon :)

GayGay what os do you run on your carPC? I'm running tinyXP but boot times are stupidly long and the new version of FreeIce won't run. Just hoping it's the OS and not my underpowered hardware

Well I'm sitting here waiting for my FM shifter to turn up :D
Plan is to fit that at the weekend, and hopefully line the inside of the front part of the centre console with black felt - I find it squeak-prone :o

If you use the FB shifter on it's highest setting you need to chop out some of the lip from the gaitor surround else it catches (You can still use it without, but the console will lift up in 1, 3 and 5th)

Yeah I've already done it Ammo - I actually have a short shift on there already, but its about half way between stock and FM on highest setting.

I think mines on the middle or lowest setting. Didn't realise about it catching though, but I doubt I'll move it up ;)

Nice idea about the black felt! I was going to strip the interior and line it with soundproofing (either sheets or that gloopy paint, sheets might be better) but the felt is a nice idea for the consoles.

Its here :D
Yeah, I like my cars silent Jay! Well apart from the noises they are suppoosed to make. Before I got married I had a 68 mustang, that was a hoot getting that 'silent'!. Managed it though, then sold it

BTW, Isnt the lowest setting the longest throw Jay? Dont you want it on the shortest?
