4th Gen Fuel/Temp gauge
There are many types of gauges - if its just the fuel temp bit of the cluster thats gone then one from any 4th gen cluster will fit and should be easy to find.
If you need the whole cluster then you may be best to take the old one out or get the honda part number off the back of it so you can get the right one. its a paper label on the back
Ive got a few here

4th Gen Fuel/Temp gauge
in what way? mine plays up sometimes, giving me magic fuel on top of the current reading and sometimes fading out light wise compared to the others, but that is when damp gets into the back of the dash from the window condensation - just really need to dry out the inside of the car and it will come back on in a few days.

Tried in in another 4th Gen and it's behavior the same, just randomly flashing up stuff, no amount of flexing cables etc.. seems to affect it, see video:

Good work getting it that far apart. That certainly is weird behaviour, can't say we've had that reported on here before?!
Could potentially be a dodgy ground, but that would most likely affect more than just one gauge and you've ruled that out by swapping into another lude.
Beyond that, as drax has suggested maybe condensation; a break or intermittent short between tracks on the PCB; or possibly a faulty electrolytic capacitor (there's lots on there and they do dry out and/or leak as they age and will fail - you could try replacing all those with like-like rated components as a cheap/relatively easy trial repair).

Its weird that the clock is showing fault too as it is on a separate board.
Maybe get a voltmeter on the wires on the green plugs to see if anything is fluctuating in line with the fault. It might help narrow things down.

I hadn't noticed that at first! In that case, I retract my previous retraction... That does suggest it could be an earth fault (potentially just high resistance on an earth rather than completely failed).

Yes, I suspect either both units share a dodgy common input (or ground) or one board sends a faulty signal to the other.
Either way it should show up in the wiring.

So quick update, i've managed to bag a display from another BB4 and it works a treat, so if anyone is good with electronics and fancies a go at repairing my old one let me know.

4th Gen Fuel/Temp gauge
Happy to take a look at it for nowt - I recently invested in a soldering microscope, thermal camera, hot air station etc and pretty sure I've got a few bags of caps from previous recap jobs.
It will be fairly hard to pinpoint a failure without a 4th gen to plug into, but I'm sure with Iain's encyclopaedic 4th gen wiring harness knowledge I can bench power it easy enough. Happy to pass it back so it can go into another 4th gen as required. Drop me a PM if you don't get any other offers.
