@indigolemon hadn't been getting emails from tags (mentions as they are now). Found in the notifications settings that there is a setting where you can turn emails on/off and it was set to 'off'. I hadn't done that, so it must be the defaul setting?
Can this be set to 'on' for all members by default? Otherwise, it makes the function pretty useless tbf - mentions are particularly useful when trying to rustle up an old/infrequently visiting member, so unless it sends them an email, it will achieve nothing.

I expect there are various ways in which this forum falls foul of gdpr?
I don't remember signing up to a privacy policy and consenting to this that and the other when it came in. Tags were still running after gdpr came in and they did result in an e-mail, so...
