is it cracked or gone porous? can you not seal it with chemical metal?

Might have just gone porous then? i gave it a bit of a clean at Bri's and couldn't really see any cracks
Bri suggested chemical metal aswell. How long will that hold up? It's a new engine job in the long run right?

Mart, not to jump the gun, but my H22A2 should be coming out at the end of may and will be going for cheap - It's got 175k on it but is really healthy and has been very much looked after. Shout if it may be of help, in the meantime, here's hoping you don't need it.

difficult to tell from pics - i guess you can run the engine and see if anything bubbles up - might not be as bad as it first appears - fingers crossed
