After joining this forum around 8 years ago I finally got myself a prelude! I then remembered I joined this forum and have not logged in for around a decade.
Its a 1992 JDM H22A auto, I picked it up yesterday.
I would love to sort out a load of issues with it. Has lots of weird issues that will probably take a while to iron out.
Although I've now owned around 20 cars I've never experienced a Honda, I've had a couple rover 800's but they don't count!
Drove it home and it does go pretty well when you put your foot down but as it was so new to me and I'm not amazing with the whole kmh thing I set the cruise control too 110kmhish and took my time. Was pretty amazed to find it got 40 to the gallon! Nothing I buy is ever that economical guess I should drive it harder.
What is the done thing on this forum when it comes to a car? Just make a thread and update how it goes? I've got a few questions that some people with experience might be able to help with.
Will take a look around the forum for now and start fiddling with it.
Congratulations to vtecmec for winning May/June's Lude Of The Month, with his DIY Turbo BB1 build.

Welcome to lude ownership!
I'm on the fence as to whether the 800 is really a honda or not. The rover 600 is most definitely an accord, but the 800 feels different. I had both (and miss the 800!).
Best thing to do is create a post for each issue you need help with, people will chime in with offers of advice or parts, manual clippings etc.
You can then create a separate thread for your progress to document the upgrades/mods/fixes.
Cheers,
Scott

The 800 is half honda half rover! I suppose one with a T series is not very rover but despite what people will say I think they are great cars. But they do have a very old man image!
The problem I have is I have so many small little issues. Will make a progress thread anyway! Thanks for the welcome!

I had a mk1 820 turbo 16v saloon (M series tickford), and a 620Ti with the T series turbo.
Neither felt as good or as well built as a honda, but the 800 was my favourite. I have also had 620sli with honda f20 engine which is basically an accord - that car is still going (P reg). The rover engined hondas expired many years ago
1 Honda prelude will last 10 times as long as a rover!

was this lude bought from liverpool? i seem to recognise it
lovely though, very similar to my 4g when i collected it for the first time as it was a h22a auto too. Yes, make a thread (i can move this one if you like to the members rides section etc.) and update how it goes with fixes, plans, issues, quirks, suggestions etc., anything and everything to do with the lude. oh and remember to try and attend any meets/shows with us
