JEBB4’s Ek1 civic hatch

Post by JEBB4 » Mon Jan 22, 2024 1:06 am

So my original repair did not work as well as I’d hoped and the epoxy just fell out when I attempted to melt in some structural wire to give it strength from the back..

So I bought one of these

Cheepo plastic welder.
Worked very well to add strength to the crack..
I then melted some plastic of the same type (which was taken from the area the fog lights usually go when optioned) into the crack as the weld

smoothed it in then filled with plastic body filler…

Have since rubbed it down and going to prime soon..

Rubbed this down and primed it now so can get an idea of how it’s turned out..

Overall it’s not a bad job, the bumper has physically deformed from the impact but it’s good enough for a kanjo esk build… if it turns out that way..
