A few little updates...

Bruce got me a Blox B16 intake manifold for my birthday, which has now been modified and is on, along with a different IACV (the more common bolt pattern thankfully). It's ever so slightly improved the idle issue but hasn't actually resolved it.

I'm starting to think maybe it's something in the map, unfortunately I can't find anyone who'd be willing to just chuck a P75 base map on a chip for me and post it over (P75 is the recommended map to 'start out' with a stock A20 that's been converted to OBD1)... If anyone knows someone give me a shout please?

Next on my list of things to do:
- Sort out the exhaust. For now I'm going to port out the existing manifold as they have a pretty good reputation even with power mods, then create a 2 or 2.5" system from there back.
- Relocate the battery

Here's some photos from the last few months :)

Thanks, they're from Cheddas Auto in the US, he does loads of awesome parts for older Hondas! :)

Thanks :P it's rusty as hell though, but I picked up some panels for it last weekend all the way from Dorset (3.5hr each way!) so I've got better condition wings, bonnet (mine is very wavy) and a drivers door (which was the part that made the car CAT D, you can tell by the bad paintwork on the inside of the door haha).

Also plan on putting the Lude bumper on this one now (not sure if I already mentioned that) along with the Celica Supra arches and making some skirts to tie it all together, possibly a subtle rear lip and maybe a custom spoiler. I want to go a bit mad with it, not like bodykits these days where it's all OEM+, but it'll still look quite subtle when it's all put together I think.

Thanks! Will be at the next one too :D

Small update on map issues, I've ordered an EPROM programmer so I'm going to burn a P75 base map to it and see if that resolves my idle, both with and without VSS disabled to give it a try, as I have two spare chips laying around. Should turn up tomorrow so expect updates by the weekend! ;)

So what's your plan with your other aerodeck if you're fitting the arches and lude bumper to this one now?

I actually want to keep it original now, after seeing them go up in value. It's an original manual, and one of (if not the) earliest left in the UK too, plus super low mileage. So the plan is just some nice alloys and maybe air ride (save the underside of the car but still park low) after a full restoration but I'm saving that for a later date... But it'll be something hopefully that I can enter into concourse classic type shows and won't get driven much - whereas the green one I don't feel bad abusing!

I've got a Civic Jordan (497) now too which has kind of been bumped up the list of projects to finish... It's a Cat C write off and I got it cheap!

Good idea. I'm still keeping an eye on prices for when the rime is right again. And yeah, don't think I'm going to better the £350 I paid for my last one

Ha they're all up for £3k plus at the moment! :O

I got my new EPROM programmer, tried reprogramming the chip and either the chip is faulty or it's in limp mode? Old chip I have been running with idle and fuelling issues is a one use one, but I reprogrammed the original one from H-Tune (the one they accidentally left launch control on) with a P75 base map, no extras just a few disabled things like ELD.

It runs spot on on the new chip, until you get to 3k rpm in any gear and then it hits a limiter of some sort. I don't know if it's limp mode or the chip has somehow retained the launch control feature without it being on the new map (it was erased first). Also have a solid CEL with no codes - which from reading online all I can find is that means fried ECU. But put the other chip back in and no CEL (until driving for a few miles, but then it's showing valid codes).

Have another fresh blank chip coming tomorrow hopefully so I'll have to give that one a go with the standard P75 and see how it goes? :(

NEW ERA ICONS
Top 9: shootin' brakes

Honda’s '80s Accord rocked double wishbone suspension and some slick multi-valve engines, but only the cool Aerodeck version had the style to back up the science.

The rear hatch featured a glass panel that stretched into the roof meaning it opened like a kind of sideways gullwing door.
Love the work on your Aerodeck, (fond of these, my Dad had one and let me drive, superb car and genuine classic)
