Honda Insight Mk1 - MOT Pass
Well when I came home at lunch I spotted this on my driveway:
My mechanic said he'd drop it round after he MOT'd it this week so I'm guessing that's a pass then
Just waiting on a letter from HMRC and then I'll get the car registered.

Re: Honda Insight Mk1
It does but I wired it up wrong. The tell tale shares a -ve pole with the switch, but isn't switched itself - I need to use a relay that's switched by the feed to the fog lamp in order to illuminate the tell tale. It wasn't flagged up on the MOT thoughmercutio wrote:i dont mind those rear lights you can always fold it under the bumper when its not needed if your worried about looks doesnt the fog switch have a bulb in it?

Re: Honda Insight Mk1
Yeah, I'm happy with that it was actually having a re-test this week as it failed last week, needed a drop link and a wiper... Got in touch with Honda and a new drop link was going to be £40 odd plus VAT, and stock is held in Japan so they could have it with me by July Langdon4x4 (@lammy426) to the rescue on that front - turns out he had them on ebay for about £14 posted, he had it with me the day after I paid for itmercutio wrote:bonus
It's also been pointed out that the rear engine stabiliser is on it's last legs, causing a fair amount of vibration in the engine at idle. I could only obtain that part from Honda, I've got it on order from Japan and it should be here next month for me to fit. It was about £115 for that part all said and told, but once that's sorted the car should hopefully be in tip top shape and just require regular servicing...
Cheers buddy, yeah I'm a bit in love with the dash too, but I'm a sucker for a digital dashboardwurlycorner wrote:I love the wheels and the dash
I was considering getting a set of alloys for it I read on the Insight forum though that apparently nobody has been able to successfully track down a lighter set of alloys yet though and so there is speculation that swapping the OEM wheels off will reduce the fuel economy!

Cheers mate, but the retest was what happened on Monday Yesterday I had a look inside and it had a clean ticket on the passenger seatvanzep wrote:good luck with the MOT retest

They do stand out, you get a lot of looks whilst driving it everyone I know who is vaguely into their cars has given me a proper ribbing over it though I'll be glad when it's back with Laura and I've got my Prelude back!!
