Those clips are held in place by the rubber seal on the vertical part of the door. You'll have to open the window to fit them.Kawa wrote:Anyone have any idea where these go? I have two of them, one for each side i guess?
They secure the end of the deflector. The deflector is attached to the clip with a small plastic push pin.

How to fit wind deflectors
To expand on this for a 5g, i fitted my OEM deflectors last night...
Clips fitted roughly in place under the outer rubber
The two end ones are easier than the middle ones to go under the rubber, the middle ones can be a pain
The middle ones need to go all the way in like this
this is wrong, it's not in all the way for example
Once the rubber is pushed back, check the rubber underneath as this pops out easily too
all fitted
when you go to screw the deflector back on and the clips need moving, you can carefully push/pull them into place with small long pliers
and fitted
much better

This is really helpful. I’ve got the clips still in mine but no deflectors! Could I ask where you got your new ones from? Struggling to find a good option which has the clips in the same place as the 5th JDM setup. I wonder if others models ie integra / accord would match the prelude shape?

i didnt buy mine new, they were second hand with clips from japan. finding oem deflectors, especially 5g ones is very difficult to find. if they do pop up, it's usually with no clips so your lucky to have the clips already.
i may be able to help you source some from japan, ill try and find some....

Thanks for the quick response! I’d been trying to locate some for ages (along with genuine floor mats), thanks for the link, great find. I’m still getting the car roadworthy, if they were 123 all-in I’d probably go ahead and get them but with a possible auto>manual swap looming I should probably hold the purse strings for now! I wondered if the EOS deflectors which I heard about here were a good temporary solution and if the clips were located the same. Having said that the JDM ones will only become more scarce. Did you pay similar for yours? From the pictures they look in good nick and reckon the defect they’ve highlighted won’t be seen once they’re in position.

there was a thread about the EOS ones here recently

look good & fit well!
floor matts your more likely to find as they were a common UKDM extra added to ludes, look at anyone breaking a 5g on ebay, fb marketplace and look at the interior pics
