now you have me thinking lol I will look and see if it has an egr … I don’t think so but tbh I have not looked for itScott560 wrote: ↑Wed Apr 26, 2023 2:15 pmOnce you have fixed any leak in the exhaust, it will take a while (and multiple restarts) for the engine fueling to be trimmed down. It's not always an instant thing, especially if the lambda sensor is tired or if the car hasn't driven much since the fix.
Not sure if the 2.0 has an EGR valve which might want checking isn't sticking?
Does the engine light flash on and go off when starting the car?

Try disconnecting the battery for a while this may reset the fuel trims, also if not done already check coolant temp is reading correctly, can you see any live data with the tool your using to check codes?
Have you physically removed o2 sensor and clean the part inside the exhaust? Also check condition of the catalytic converter whilst in there.. try cleaning the map sensor.. what condition are the spark plugs in, might be clue to how the engines running
That being said I think it may be the Cat that’s no longer converting as well as it should.. try getting it really hot before test…
Good luck

Thanks
thank you yes I can see live data, changed all the sparks and fresh oil, and filters all done, I have a feeling it’s maybe the cat but hoping not as I guess they are hard to come by and expensive, I will try the battery thing and clean the o2 and exhaust tomorrow with another fuel flush and see what the readings are (a mates garage said he will now test them for me ) if that all fails a new cat which is annoying as once it’s through the mot it’s having a brand new full de cat exhaust fitted lol thanks again for the advise it’s much appreciated.JEBB4 wrote: ↑Wed Apr 26, 2023 9:39 pmTry disconnecting the battery for a while this may reset the fiel trims, also if not done already check coolant temp is reading correctly, can you see any live data with the tool your using to check codes?

I found and cleaned the EGR out which freely moved however was quite clogged up, so a good long clean and moves way better now, cleaned all o2 parts and filled with premium and a high dose of cleaner, bombed it about at high revs for ages and already smells no way near as rich and way less smoke so plugging in today and testing emissions again … I expect them to be down and if not as you said a cat for £54.55 and should be perfect
