So, it's this old chesnut....

Folklore says that '99 onwards has the cabin filters behind the glovebox, some JDM's from '97 have it too, but my UK '00 doesn't seem to have the sliding door to get to the filters; it looks like a completely solid enclosure. So.... what's the story, cabin filter glory?

i found this out the other day too.

I ordered one, got under the dash, tried to prise open the door before i realised its a solid piece. Mine is a '99 V reg.

I'm guessing perhaps its just for cars with climate control? or maybe USDM cars? Meant to post this when i did the service actually...

Looking at Lings, I don't see anything for a cabin filter. I seem to think I did exactly the same when I had my '99. Bought a filter but couldn't change it

If anyone wants one - i got one they can have for postage! its febi branded and cost me £8 lol.

The oem JDM one didnt and I removed the air con. I'm now running the air con out of a UKDM but with jdm climate etc. No filter....I am going to check again tomorrow.

Yes. Just checked. No cabin filter on my UKDM retrofit. It was a 98spec ukdm I think.
