No, not in the key of C. An H is likely involved though ...

Skunk2 Alpha + Pro series?

Post by Therealjj91 » Mon May 02, 2016 4:03 pm

I've currently got Alpha series valve springs and retainers fitted in my car and in the future I want to upgrade from the type s cams to skunk2 pro cams. My question is what is the difference between alpha and pro series springs and retainers and what cams are recommended for a high compression engine pro1s or pro2s or even the crower ones?

Crower cams have supposedly improved their quality pro2's are supposed to be insane  pro1's are supposed to be pretty good but it all depends on what your power levels your looking for and how deep your pockets are and also how much you value drivablity

check out the specs on the cams some are not just plug and play some may require work to the pistons

Yeah that's the thing, I've already spent out on the alpha valve train stuff and I don't want to have to change it out for the pro stuff cause it's hardly been used. If I can run the pro2s on the alpha valve train parts I'll probably do that.

i think the alpha series springs and retainers are fine for n/a builds, whereas the pro series springs and retainers are aiming for forced induction setups.
