Think i read on PUK that you can get a remap to run better with the Shell Vpower or 100 octane petrol ( is that what it is?)
Anyone got more information on it? and the benefits of doing it?

Well it's as simple as higher octane of petrol the more power you can tune in. However, your car is now mapped for this, so won't be as effective if you filled up with 95ron stuff.
It's why some race/drag cars add additives to boost octane, run race fuels, ethanol, methanol, and so on.
If you drive an import you should be filling up with higher grade anyway as they're mapped from Japans 99ron. I won't get into accuracies of the ron rating between countries, mainly because I'd have little to say on the subject!

I have a question,
if your mapped for v power or 99 ron
are you prone to engine knocking on ukdm vehicle's? if using the 95ron stuff?

In theory yes, but reality I'd say no.
The ron rating is it's ability to withstand compression. I.e. High compression engines, such as ours it can reduce the chance of compressing the fuel (combusting) before or as well as igniting by the spark plug - aka knock/detonation or pre ignition/pre-detonation. Wiki has a some good explanations of RON ratings, if anyone fancies a further read:

The theory of the RON rating would say yes to your question, but I doubt whether you put in 95 or 99 it would even start to do so. Beyond this is also the fact that the imports that would have this 'option' to downgrade fuel have a knock sensor and would compensate for it anyway, even then I'm doubtful how often the knock sensor is used in a H22A's lifetime.
