Anyone recommend a garage in Edinburgh?

Hi all,

I know we have a few Edinbuggers in here. Just picked up my new lude. Very happy with it so far, but it's overdue a timing belt change. Can anyone recommend a good place to get it done?

Saving a few quid over main dealer prices would be nice if possible.

Hi dude - ive used many garages in Edinburgh and cant say i would recommend any of them

I think if your going to stick with Main Honda Dealer then Brown Brothers in Peebles were highly rated but i havent used them myself. Chathams at Abbeyhill still do Honda servicing - when they did my timing belt i wasnt happy - but that was about 10 years ago - Me and a few locals from this forum did my last timing and balancer belt change about 9 months ago - we also did the manual tensioner conversion and all the oil and cam seals.

Phone up Western Honda (at the Fort) and see how much they would be. There is the Honda Happiness scheme that offers fixed price jobs.

Chumps! Worth a call anyway IMO. They say an accord is £255 all in for a timing belt change.

I got Abbeyhill to do my timing belt on the last 5th gen I had under Honda Happiness.

Is there not a local garage that you have used previously that you trust? My local garage is decent and I send most of my work there when I cant do it myself. True I have never sent them a timing belt

Used GW Martin in Morningside previously because it was local. Always seemed straight up but never had to have anything major done, just MOTs.

you could download the manual and give it a go yourself - sure a few us locals point you in the right direction
If not then id take it to Brown Brothers - check out their rep online
