Fuel economy issue

Post by onemove » Tue Jan 15, 2013 6:58 pm

Hi all,

Just purchased a 1999 2.0i with Motegi kit, 32k genuine miles.

Just done a full tank of petrol and only got 210 miles, all urban driving with on slightly energetic short journey, I should be getting around 300 miles.

It does need a service, could that be the only reason for the low MPGs?

Also I have a knocking from the front end when I pull away or go over a speed bump, Shocks or something else?

Thanks for your help

210 urban isnt too bad, I get similar numbers but do have a 2.2.

Knocking over bumps will almost definitely be drop links

I've never done them myself but they should be an easy job. Costwise I think the droplinks are either £15 or £30 each
