Manual Vs Auto Gearbox Mounts?
I will be doing an auto to manual swap on my BA8, are the engine bay gearbox mount the same in the auto and manual?
The easy solution is that I go and look at both engine bays on my manual BB4 and auto BA8, but they are not with me at the moment.

Manual Vs Auto Gearbox Mounts?
You have to be careful with the pictures on amayama - some of the slides show both parts (either for auto/manual, aircon/no aircon etc) and the detail is only in the listing.
If you look at those 2 slides, top left is an inset section, and these highlight the part numbers on the parts listing on the right when you click on the numbers in the picture, and they differ between those 2 pages.
EG #7 and #2 go together for a manual car, but aren't listed/highlighted for the auto.
It looks like the front/rear/cambelt side are universal, but the gearbox mount is AT/MT specific?

That's right, also the bracket that interfaces between the mount and gearbox is different.
Also, not sure if this does apply to the 5th gen, but on my 4th I had to cut the bracket off the chassis and weld the manual equivalent onto the body as they were different.

That is interesting what Vtecmec says about the gearbox bracket on the chassis on the 4th gen.
I thought you might be looking at getting upgraded mounts - the Innovative ones for 4th gen seem to suggest that their mount is good for use in auto to manual swaps - might be worth checking into that - it might mean that you can use their gearbox mount on the auto chassis as is - no cutting or welding.

I think those mounts listed are the 3 that bolt onto the engine, so good if the car is manual or auto, though does not include the gearbox mount so does not solve the issue.

I did on mine , i dont remember about a mount but its 2 part thing should be some difference as box shaped differently . Only thing i remember you need is to re drill a hole on mount bracket.

If I recall correctly, that's an 'oddity' of yours being a very early car - slightly later 4g's had a standard welded bracket on the bodyshell (auto or manual) and the only difference was in the bolted parts, as you've mentioned?

I dunno, Andreika's post has a link to someone who had the same. And thinking about it, since all auto mounts are the same and all manual mounts are the same, then it stands that all applicable chassis brackets would fit said mounts and therefore would be different from one another, regardless of year.wurlycorner wrote: ↑Tue Sep 17, 2024 11:20 amIf I recall correctly, that's an 'oddity' of yours being a very early car - slightly later 4g's had a standard welded bracket on the bodyshell (auto or manual) and the only difference was in the bolted parts, as you've mentioned?

I did a manual swap on mine years ago and had to redrill that hole on mine for sure its easy job, put manual transmision inside , level the engine and you see what need to be doneVtecmec wrote: ↑Tue Sep 17, 2024 9:40 pmI dunno, Andreika's post has a link to someone who had the same.
