front engine mount

Post by si import » Tue Jan 31, 2012 1:09 pm

hi. when braking and pulling away I kept hearing a knocking noise from the front of my car. First I thought it was the suspension but then I realised the front engine mount was all loose . Tried to do the bolts back up but the threads are knackered . do I need this mount as the engine seems pretty tight without it or can I get a torque damper and mount it somewhere . cheers jon

Oh you mean the bracket is lose, I thought you meant that the rubber mount had perished.

Not good if the bolts have threaded, they bolt into the block

You'll need to get the block Heli-Coiled. :(
