I thought it was the opposite; poly euro will eventually oval out on the bushes and the car will sound clonky, whereas the OEM rubber just hardens up and splits with age?

Mine is polybushed all round including engine mounts. I will never change it back to OEM ones. Now I can easyly cornering with higher speed and a lot less stress. But part of it also will be torsen diff.

BTW I bought all bushes separately so even if anything go wrong with any of them I'm sure I can buy just warned/damaged one. And they were quite cheap. Considering labour costs and the fact I have installed them by myself (instead of OEM stuff)I think there is no better solution for suspension.

And all what LLL said... Hmm.. I just totaly agree

yes, forgot that point, the fact you can buy singles and replace them yourself when and if they go bad is a massive saving. The change over is expensive but its all gravy after that. you can swap them yourself. no more gargae bills for suspension (bar ball joints of course.

@mudge: given the time frames and the amount of punishment you have to give them to do that I think Carrisma should be ok.

Yeah, I understand what you mean. This won't be a upgrade for the sake of it, however, if the handling is improved as a result then brilliant. Ever since I bought my Lude in May 2005, it's suffered from a clunk noise from the near-side rear. Yeah, I've tried the "shock knock" fix to no avail. The standard springs and shock absorbers were replaced with new Motegi items in November 2006 (purpose was to upgrade, not fix the fault) and the fault remained. In an attempt to fix it, the following have been replaced:
  • Rear stabiliser links (twice),
Rear damper collars (an official Honda US fix),
    Rear suspension top mounts,
    Rear upper suspension arms.
It seems to be getting worse throughout this year and the car really doesn't sound happy when going over speed bumps so I'm wondering if it's time to replace the bushes for remedial action. TBH, some of them do look like they've seen better days.

That's the key reason I see to polybush really, if the oem mounts are going, might as well polybush. Part-wise it's certainly cheaper, anyway.

Do you guys notice a difference in harshness in the car over bumps and things with these fitted?

Btw I have a traders account with powerflex and get 20% discount, if anybody needs anything from them let me know!

@carrisma: have you not ever got under there with a prybar and given everything a bloody wiggle and tug? I couldn't start buying parts without knowing which part it was that was making a noise. You might just find its an exhaust bracket tapping the chassis and wasted all that cash on parts that were fine in the first place.

Nothing specific, freelance CAD design, I like to think I have a relatively high attention to detail in that department, also run T7Design which pays the bills and is slowly becoming the largest aftermarket heater store in the UK, I also sell my own design of computer case, a few things here and there really!

Yeah, hours and blood have gone into investigating this chronic problem, not to mention money too. Everything seems OK underneath.
