ABS light wont come ON??

Hi all,

I've tried a forum search for this but due to the number of issues with ABS lights staying on I havent found anything like my issue.

My ABS light won't come on!

I have just failed the MOT and this is the only fault. The garage was looking at me funny and saying things like, "are you sure you didn't have a problem previously and removed the bulb?"

I protested my innocence and when I got home took out the dash and the bulb is there. I swapped it out for the handbrake light which I know works and still no ABS light doesn't come on during the dash light test when you turn the ignition on. I've checked all the fuses and they are all ok.

Edit... this is on my 5G

I am perplexed.

There's a troubleshooting procedure for this exact problem in the service manual, section 19-42 and it starts with checking the fuse.

Thanks Max, I followed the procedure all the way to replace the PCB... I thought thats a bit extreme so I gave the bulb a few twists in case it was a bad connection to the PCB and ping the light worked.
