For the first time in 5+ years I am no longer a Sky insurance customer. Apparently Sky insurance have a minimum price of £300 for a policy  Which is uncompetitive to my other quotes.

I would have thought that a minimum price for insurance would not be a huge issue for a long standing customer whom has never made a claim. I think I have paid out over £1500 to Sky, on this policy alone, in recent years and never asked for anything in return.

Strangely enough my renewal came through the other week there and they want more for the 2.0 5th than the fully declared import 4th. Actually glad you posted to as Im still waiting on proof of my no claims so best get on the phone to them.

Well mine dropped by several hundred going from being kept in a locked garage on a driveway to parked on the street in a city  since being parked on the street it's been keyed, run over from bonnet to boot, all four corners scuffed, numberplate cracked, and I'm pretty sure there are some marks from someone trying to get the door open. Make of that what you will  makes no sense to me but whatevs.

This is all irrelevant to Sky, just commenting in general.

Just got my renewal through from Sky. Pretty much the same as last year and the year before despite much more NCB. :(

Looks like i will have to shop around.

Exactly how i was, gave them a call and they came down a bit but was still a a good £60 odd more, this I wouldn't have minded but the lower quote had an excess on £100, skys had an excess of £300! All these little things add.

Moved house to one that didn't have a garage. And I'm not paying the council 70 odd quid a month for a garage halfway across the city with shitty security and in a scumbag area  private rentals are extortianate for somewhere reasonably close.

I went with Sky 2 years ago as they came in cheapest, but they couldn't match my quote from performance direct last year because of their £300 minimum price. This year I'm paying less than £150 so I doubt I'll ever go back to Sky unless they reduce that bottom limit
