Found a thermoclock tucked behind the dash...

Doing a few little jobs today I found a thermoclock tucked under the centre console, put a new battery in and assumed was just taking outside temp, however having took it for a drive it clearly isn't measuring ambient temp, any guesses as to what its most likely to be doing? It got up to around 30 degrees.

Could be something to do with this if it is a JDM 5th gen (courtesy of nitin)

If it is not then i would hazard a guess it something to do with a Honda Access option such as air refiner - i know there is one for 4th gens dont know if there is one for 5th gens :)

Its this exact one. https://www.ebay.com/itm/234178443854

I think its measuring 'something' under the bonnet as i've been using the car a lot more lately so have been monitering it, it starts off at around 16 degrees and will rise as the car warms up, when moving it'll get to around 25/26 celcius and stay there and when in traffic it'll climb into the mid/high 40s, the highest temperate its logged is 63.
