A Solid Fabs jobby is probably about half the price again of a Powerflow f not more(£300 Powerflow, £450+ Solid Fabs). A Solid Fabs is going to be far superior though. The stainless used is probably better, so will the quality of the silencers (welds and baffles included). Then you can guarantee Solid Fabs will mandrel bend the pipework, whereas I'd guess most Powerflow dealers will compression bend, so the gases won't flow as easily.

no question. one is for people, the other is for people who know.

You know the M52b28 in my bimmer comes from factory with over 200bhp and the same ftlb and takes a grand to get 25% extra out of safely and reliably. Crazy. I'll be selling it but I really did want to put some cash into the bimmer. Its such a lovely engine. Like a grown up version of the H22 in loads of ways. vanos is cracking and 6 cylinders sings a much better tune.

I love the h22 but its not as good in qute a few areas imho. I wish I could marry the bimmer and the 5th gen and have the resultant child. That would be almost the perfect car for me. Imagine 50bhp and 30ftlb for a grand out of a H22...
6th gen Prelude please Mr Honda. RWD 2.4 turbo lude.

I don't know why everyone gets so down on Powerflow stuff. The basic components are fine and as for the final assembly, that is down to the quality of the individual dealer - some are good, some are not so good.

I have a manifold-back powerflow system on my UKDM (I didn't buy it, it was on there when I bought the car) and it's absolutely fine, no complaints and the bends are mandrel bent.
NB: A couple of people commented on the national dyno day that it seems to make a slight whistle at high revs and they thought that meant it sounded restrictive, but that's not the case - the exhaust is well over 10 years old so the innards of the silencer (baffles etc) are a bit worn these days! :D

I've seen some second hand powerflow systems come up for sale that also look good and a few that aren't so good. I've had a repair carried out by Solid Fabs on an FGK downpipe and the repair is so-so - good quality tube, nice and smoothly bent, but the cuts and weld haven't been finished properly inside and one of the repair sections is shorter than the other, so it's been assembled slightly on the wonk.

So, meh. It's all swings and roundabouts and one exhaust is only as good as that exhaust from that dealer at that time.
