The Lude gods were smiling on me, all week it has been raining, and Sunday, but Saturday was sunny and warm for my planned driveway engine removal. Big thanks to 3rd Gen Steve and Vanzep as I wouldn't have been able to remove it and transport it without their help.

The car is about to be scrapped, but I wanted to keep the 120K miles H22a8 and I need to use the M2P4 gearbox in my other 5th gen. We couldn't be bothered mucking about with knuckles and hubs, so just cut the driveshafts for ease, which saved a few hours of work (and the rest).

Brutal removal there using the angle grinder on driveshafts

Nice upgrade on the chicken mechanic, too.

I just knew the spindles would be fused into the hubs anyway, plus I don't like splitting balljoints unless I have to, and undoing the front upper arms on the 5th requires you to remove the shock. 10 mins of angle grinding and it side stepped all of that.

The car is away to be crushed. Rear brakes were rusted on so it had to be dragged onto the trailer.

Always a sad day to see a lude bite the dust
but it did provide many spare parts for future use :)
