I like the look of it. TBH I wanted it to be full EV with a solid state battery like it was originally planned. A 600hp 0-60 in 2.5s AWD rocket would have been nice, but I suppose that isn't the Prelude way and we can still have VTEC.
I wonder what power it will put out, 350-400hp like a modern Toyota Supra or Nissan Z? Surely they will give it more power than the new Civic/Integra. If the UK CTR has 320hp this should be about 400? 4WS would be a nice addition.
Hopefully it's more than Japanese only, at least we will be able to import if it isn't. IMO it's going to cost about £55-£60K.

I have actually messaged the Honda UK PR asking for info
(I don't expect they will have anything they can give at the moment though).
I used to have a direct contact in the team, after I met him at Goodwood FOS, but he's moved onto Genesis now.

If it comes out in 2026 we will make a new section of the forum? Or just fold the 6th gen Prelude into the general mix?

So this will likely be based on the GM Ultium EV platform since they have teamed up with Honda and Sony to build EVs.
So it will likely be RWD but depends on if they adapt modern 4WS to it.....the Prelude way.
I didn't like it at first but after watching some videos it's grown on me.
And it looks suspiciously like my 6th gen Prelude Project I did for my major final year degree in Vehicle design back in 2008.

Edit .....I see Merlin posted on Facebook from a Twitter link that this will be hybrid petrol/electric.
So the new k20 with a hybrid battery unit. Sounds like a winner. Even full EV is a winner to me.

A hybrid K20C1 putting out about 400hp? The K20C1 is 320hp in the 2023 Civic? The likely gearbox based hybrid motor surely has to put out at least 50, 70hp? I dont think it will be a manual.
The only thing that is mildly annoying about it is that it is a PHEV, so it will need to be plugged in to charge the battery. Although it might be a good thing as my sister has a Toyota self charging hybrid and has had nothing but trouble with the battery.
