Merlin's 1993 BA8 Si - It's here!
It's here! The car was trailered up to me on Friday. Predictably the battery was flat, but the car kept cutting out when coming off the trailer, turns out an ignition cable had popped off a spark plug.
Vanzep and I gave the car a clean and a going over with our eyes and hands. Apart from rusty wiper arms, the only bit of rust is a crack of split paint in one of the door jams. On the whole, the car is rust free!
The pics do lie a little though, there are lots of scratches in the paint, especially on the driver's side. But I am not concerned as it made the car much cheaper to buy and it's something that can be easily fixed or hidden (the car might end up being wrapped),

I know I don't post much here anymore but this definitely warrants a post to simply say WOOT

It looks mint. I'm guessing it spent most of its life inside a garage or well covered. What a score.

Amazing. Can't believe how straight and clean that body is. Fabulous!

On the whole I am chuffed, the car has had a small bump on the passenger wing and an iffy fix. Other than that, it's straight as can be.
It's booked in for its MOT a week on Thursday and then it can be registered with the DVLA. Once it has its MOT the teardown will begin.

it does look very straight with good panel gaps and no rust - just what you wanted - so good result
it is difficult to gauge but looks like most if not all the scratches are in the clear coat I reckon a coat of wax and a buff will sort that out for the time being. i like the colour - the silver looks really good imo. If it was my lude I would just keep it as it is.
p.s you didnt mention the hornets/wasp nest you found stuck down the side of the battery
maybe that could be a theme if your doing a wrap
