Rust under Spare Wheel

You have a roof check if the drain pipe is blocked. There should be two on either side.

I’ve got the light seals now which I’ll fit and also I’ve noticed the spoiler gasket is a bit iffy and as they don’t make them no more I have got some material which I’ll have to cut out and put it under the spoiler.

Are the black plastic mouldings on each side that seem to have flaps inside anything to do with the sunroof drainage?

I have no sunroof on mine so I can’t confirm but when I was searching for leaks online I saw a lot of people saying the drain pipes. They’re on either side, clear pipes.

I checked them today.
I removed both bottom sections that the pipes slide into.
They were both a bit dirty but not blocked so I washed them out and refitted them through the body panel.
Clear pipe's looked ok although I didn't try running a wire through them.
I will see what happens when We get the next lot of rain this week

I removed all the rear boot carpet the other day and stuck a load of kitchen towel around the boot to see where it got wet.
The main place that got wet was the centre section at the back of the boot below the boot latch from about half way down.
Also a few weeks ago I removed My boot rubber and it had quite a few patches of rust in places most of it was between an area between the rear lights along the top edge.
I have now treated the rust.
How does water get under the rubber

or enter the boot where it has.
Any ideas guy's

Assuming the lip that the boot seal sits over is fully intact then it shouldn't - but if the seal isn't fully tight all round the lip then air pressure as the car is in motion could potentially force it under.
If you want to stop that, best thing is to run a reasonable bead of PU sealant right along the full length inside the rubber seal, before refitting onto the boot lip.

The water is getting in when parked

I did put some sealant on before I replaced the rubber seal.
I'm thinking of adding some water resistant tape of some sort along the edge of the rubber onto the metal work

So annoying

I’ve finally figured out the leak on my boot lid. The rear light gasket/seals were very worn so when small amount of water was leaking through them and also my spoiler gasket was literally non existent (I know you don’t have a spoiler so you don’t have to worry about that).

Rear light seals are easy to get but spoiler gasket I’ll have to make some up with similar material.

That kind of rust on the boot seal lip isn't too uncommon, toadster.
