An old topic that's probably been done to death many times long in the past, but times change so... Here we go again.
What's people's re comment for a good fast road brake pad?
I'm currently running something from mtec, but they sent me the wrong ones (I ordered something mid-range but they sent the basic ones by mistake and they feel soft, don't bite and chuck up loads of dust)
Needs to fit the ATR caliper/carrier (not standard vtec Lude caliper/carrier)
I don't want anything that squeals or chucks up tons of brake dust.
So what's people's recommendations please? (Preferably with links to buy!)

Pad recommendation
I have PBS Track and PBS Race pads (front and rear, cant remember which way around) - they are not massively expensive or exotic. They have a tiny tiny tiny bit of squeal at light braking pressures but it really isn't a problem.
Pretty sure the ATR and standard (5th gen 282mm at least) are the same shape pads/sizes (perhaps the 'meat' depth is different?)
They increase in friction after the first couple of braking , but after that they stay relatively consistent. My colleague had them on his mx5 and he said they were borderline scary on cold winter mornings (he said ABS would kick in very easily), but I would say I don't even give it a second thought in the prelude.
They feel like concrete, and I'm very happy with the feel, after they have warmed up, the pedal is very consistent and easy to modulate once you get used to them. However, I changed these along with other changes to the system, including the rebuilding of the master cylinder. If the brakes don't feel great despite being in decent condition (which I expect yours are well kept), then I would go for the MC rebuild first.
On the track, the braking was absolutely phenomenal with the cup2 tyres (as commented by passenger) , but very quickly overwhelm the cooing capacity of the ATR setup. I doubt anyone would ever hit this scenario on road (its a long circuit, so a lot of speed can be built up, means a lot to bleed off).

EBC Red Stuff.
I get no noise, very little brake dust and they stop well from cold and really well when warm. I can't really fault them.

I thought the depth of the friction material was different - but you're right, just checked parts catalogue online and same part numbers for Lude and ATR, despite different carriers/disc thickness.

Interestingly, they don't list those on their site - only Ultimax (I ran/run those on the UKDM BB1 tbf) Green, Yellow and Blue!

Pad recommendation
I'm on Ferodo DS Performance.
No squeaking, works ok cold and well warmed up.
Could not say that they are dusty, as I'm using Turtle Wax Iron remover pretty often.

Pad recommendation
I used the ds2500, but to me they felt just like a normal road pad, except they could take the heat and not overheat as quickly compared to normal road pads. By overheat I mean that the pedal had pressure, but the braking force was reduced/poor (not overheated fluid, where the pedal goes long due to gas bubbles in the fluid).
After a fair few track days, when I swapped them out a good bit of them had disintegrated all the way around the edge. They were only about half worn i'd say depth wise, but a fair amount of crumbling. That was on the ATR setup as well.

DS2500 the most dusty Springfield pad I've ever used and noisey. Got rid.
Dixel Type Z, epic pad but wow the loudest pad ever, squeaks like a race car. Got rid.
EBC Redstuff.....very happy, quiet, clean and stops well to me.
I use them on my van and Prelude.

Torn between EBC Red Stuff and Hawk PC.
You're all pushing the Red Stuff (fine - I believe you) but I just don't think I can face looking at a red pad underneath a sparkly bright metallic blue brake caliper, behind black wheels
