Re: Marts lude
EGR Valve Clean
Driving the lude the otherday I kept getting a CEL code keep popping up. Ran the paperclip test and it was coming up EGR Valve.
Had the day off today so I thought I'd make the most of the decent weather. Time to clean the EGR Valve.
The 1st nut closest to the Rocker cover came loose with not too much effort, but the 2nd nut didn't want to budge.
After spraying it with a load of WD40 a few times, and after swearing at it even more. It eventually came loose.
Removed.
The Offending Item.
It was pretty coked up, so much so that it actually took a bit of force with my thumb to get the valve to move.
Gave it a bit of a scrape with a screwdriver and this is what came out.
Here's a bit of perspective to show how much there actually is.
Then gave it a good blast with loads of Carb Cleaner and a good scrubbing with a toothbrush then some more Carb Cleaner, then a wipe down.
Then all was left was to re-fit it.
Done.
While I was there i decided to aslo fit my FM Cooling Plate.
Enginebay shot as it looks now.
