There is a difference between manual and auto rads yes - the auto rad contains and oil cooler in the bottom tank for the transmission.
Not familiar specifically with 5g's but in 3g/4g you can normally fit an auto rad to a manual (but not vice-versa). Just plug / cover the unused transmission fluid ports, if doing so.
