Like what you see?
These things take quite a bit of time, research, implementation as well as making these write ups.
While not required, contributions do help and incentivise these projects (lots and lots of broken parts)

The following is a write up post installation of my Keyless Trunk/Boot Opener modification. This modification is on the basis of a Right Hand Drive 97-01 BB6 VTi-R Prelude. The goal of this modification is to make the trunk/boot be able to be opened remotely with the factory security unit.

Tools:
  • 10mm Socket
  • Ratchet
  • Multi-meter (Optional, but recommended)
  • Tape/Heat shrink
  • Wire
Parts Needed:
  • Factory Honda Security Unit
    • Part Number: 08E51-S84-1M0-02
    • You can identify your unit by the label on the front.
  • Accord 1998-2002 Rear Trunk/Boot Latch
    • Part Number: 74851-S84-A41
  • SPST Normally open relay.
Writeup?

This is a very straight forward modification. Pinouts and wiring diagrams supplied

Very useful. This could pave the way for cheaper replacement central locking fobs as the original prelude ones differ to all the run of the mill other honda ones.
